CP Sandeep Patil Plants Sapling to Mark World Environment Day
Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Police in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra (Mangaluru) held a tree sapling plantation ceremony in order to mark the occasion of World Environment Day at the Pandeshwar Police Station here, on June 5.
At the event, Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil successfully planted and watered a sapling within the compound area of the Pandeshwar Police Station. DCP (Crime and Traffic) Laxmi Ganesh and Raghuveer Suterpete from the Nehru Yuva Kendra also followed suit and planted two other saplings. Similar saplings were distributed to all of Mangaluru’s Police Stations.
Addressing the mediapersons Sandeep Patil said, “On the occasion of World Environment Day, we are gathered here to plant these saplings. Similar saplings have been distributed to all the police stations in the city. This will help improve the environment of the world. I appeal to all the people to carry out such activities and make similar attempts to improve our environment.”
The famed environmentalist Jeeth Milan Roche provided the saplings and also assisted the officials in planting them.
