It’s CPL Cricket Time! Coastalwood Premier League Cricket Players Auction on 15th
Mangaluru: Addressing the media persons during a press meet held at Mangalore Press Club, Ashwini- President of The newly established Coastalwood Artists and Technicians Association-Mangaluru said, “Our Association is organising a Cricket Tournament for the players of Coastal Film Industry under the title of “Coastalwood Premier League” (CPL) from 4th to 8th April 2017 at Nehru Maidan-Mangaluru. The players of the film industry will represent in 8 teams namely- Glitz Gladiators; M W Strikers; Kadandale Tigers; Kalkude Belters; Royal Rangers; Jugari Warriors; Brand Vision Tuskers; R S Brothers – which are owned by different franchisees. One hundred forty players of the industry have been divided into three categories based on their performance shown in the trial matches conducted last year.”
“The players will be distributed to the teams through an auction process which will be held at Forum Fiza Mall on 15 April 2017 at 3.00 p.m. Each team can utilize the Auction money of Rs.300000.00 each. Each team has to purchase a one-star player, one Icon player, 4 players from A Pool, 4 players from B pool and 3 players from C pool.
The identified star players are Arjun Kapikad, Rupesh Shetty, Asthik Shetty, AnupSagar, Saurab Bhandary, Prithvi Amber, Shravan Kadri, Prakash Shetty. The tournament will be held as per the style of IPL, MPL. The organizers of MPL Mohammed Sirajuddin and Imthiaz are looking after the whole event under the banner of Brand Vision Event Management team” added Ashwini
Also speaking Mohammed Sirajuddin of Brand Vision Event Management Team (BVEMT) said, ” The eight teams will be divided into two pools of 4 teams each. During the league system, each team has to play 3 matches and 3 teams from each pool will be qualified to the knockout stage. The teams placed number one will directly qualify to the semi-finals. However, the teams placed 2nd and 3rd have to play in eliminator matches to qualify for the semi-finals. The matches will be held on the basis of 10 overs a side. “
“The winners will receive an attractive trophy and cash prize of Rs.2,00,000.00 and the Runners up team will be awarded trophy with a cash prize of Rs.1,00,000.00. Man of the match award will be given in every match. Man of the series, Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Best fielder awards will be given. There will be a special prize to the player who hits the highest number of sixers in the tournament. The Ministers, MPs, MLAs and other eminent persons are in the CPL Advisory Committee. Also, cine stars Devdas Kapikad, Naveen Padil, Vijayakumar Kodialbail, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Shivsharan Shetty, Vijay Vittalnath Shetty etc are on the advisory committee.” said Imthiaz of BVEMT
