Cricket Betting – 2 Bookies Arrested in Padil, Rs 7.2 Lakh Cash Seized
Mangaluru: The CCB police arrested two youth in connection with world cup cricket betting at Padil Junction here on June 4.
The arrested have been identified as Keerthiraj Shetty (25) from Jappinamogeru and Devikiran (24) from Talapady.
On June 4, on getting reliable information that two persons in car at Padil Junction were betting on World cup cricket and collecting money from people, the CCB police got into action and raided the place. When the police reached the spot Keerthiraj Shetty and Devikiran were caught red handed.
The accused were sitting in the car and collecting money from people for cricket betting. The CCB police arrested both Keerthiraj and Devikiran and Seized 2 cars, 5 mobile phones and Rs 7.20 lakh cash all worth Rs 30 lakh from their possession. The raid will continue to curb the Cricket betting bookies.
Under the direction of Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil and under the guidance of DCP Law and Order Hanumantharaya and DCP Crime and Traffic Lakshmi Ganesh the operation was carried out by the CCB Inspector Shivaprakash R Naik, PSI Kabbal Raj and team and Kankanady Town Police Inspector Jagadish, PSI Pradeep and Team.
