Cricket Betting, 2 Bookies Arrested in Panambur
Mangaluru: The North Sub-division Anti-rowdy squad arrest 2 Cricket Bookies at Meenakaliya, Panambur here on March 29.
The arrested have been identified as Bharathesh S Shriyan (38) and Mahanthesh Amin (38) from Kadri.
According to the police, on March 29, Bharathesh and Mahanthesh were involved in Cricket betting and were collecting money from the public at Meenakaliya in Panambur for the one day match between Pakistan and Australia in Abu Dhabi using the Brizze sport and Delight Mobile App.
On getting reliable information about the cricket betting, the Sub Inspector of Mangaluru North Sub Division Anti-rowdy squad Sheethal Alagur and team got into action and informed the Inspector for further action. The inspector registered a case and took permission from the court.
The same was submitted to the court to get permission and the court granted permission to raid the Cricket betting place. During the raid, the police seized cash of Rs 43,000 collected from the public and 3 mobile phones under the supervision of the officers and took both the accused into their custody.
