Cricket Betting, 2 Bookies Arrested in Ullal PS Limits
Mangaluru: The Ullal police arrested two persons in connection with the World Cup cricket betting under the Ullal police station limits on July 11.
The arrested have been identified as Santhosh alias Santhu (35) from Talapadu Village and Jeevan Kumar (25) from Bendoor.
On July 11, on getting reliable information that two persons in the car were betting on World cup cricket and collecting money from people under the Ullal police station limits, the Ullal police got into action and raided the place. When the police reached the spot Santhosh and Jeevan Kumar were caught red-handed.
The police seized a Hyundai Creta car bearing registration number KA 19 MH 4733, five mobile phones and Rs 70,000 cash from their possession.
In another cricket Betting case, the Mangaluru East Police arrested Nishanth (21) from Kurnad Mudipu and seized Rs 70,000 cash and a mobile phone from his possession.
The police will continue their raids to curb Cricket betting bookies.
