Critical dengue patient denied admission in Wenlock Hospital
Udupi: A girl suffering from dengue fever was denied admission at the Wenlock hospital, Mangaluru. The girl who was rushed to Wenlock Hospital from Udupi government Hospital suffered the agony and pain the 108 ambulance for 4 hours. Later the girl was again taken to Udupi and admitted to a private hospital there.
Badamma (10) was diagnosed with dengue fever in the Government Women and Child Hospital, the doctors refereed the patient to the Wenlock Hospital, Mangaluru as the patient was critical saying that they will contact the authorities at the Wenlock hospital to ease the treatment procedures in the hospital.
Badamma daughter of daily wager Parashu and Neelamma was then rushed to the Wenlock Hospital in 108 Ambulance. The authorities at Wenlock hospital denied admission to Badamma saying that they lacked with facilities to treat dengue fever. The parents pleaded with the doctors at Wenlock hospital to grant admission to Badamma, but they remained adamant and denied the admission.
The parents of Badamma later contacted social activist Vishu Shetty for support, he immédiately made necessary arrangements in a private hospital in Udupi and the patient was brought back in the 108 Ambulance and admitted in a private hospital in Udupi.
