Kundapur: To be successful in life, students should develop a helping nature in their life said Pramod Madhwaraj Udupi district minister in-charge and also State minister for Sport, Fisheries and Youth Affairs.

He was speaking after participating in the felicitation Function oraganised by the Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh and John D’Silva Foundation, Mumbai jointly at the St Mary’s College Auditorium Kundapur here on Sunday, September 4.

Today is a historical day for the citizens of India, because Pope Francis will be canonising Mother Teresa who spent her life in the streets of Calcutta.

Mother Teresa’s life and work has inspired many and as Saint Teresa, she will continue to inspire many, many more. The spirit of compassion and selfless service to the most unfortunate, sick, the dying and the destitute will be greatly bolstered through keeping alive the memory of this great soul. St Teresa’s helping nature has made her an inspiration to others.

Helping others is a noble work in our society and Mother Teresa helped and served others all her life. Students should follow the ideals of Mother Teresa in their life, he added.
Fr Lawrence D’Souza Secretary Catholic Education Society Udupi honoured those students who had scored distinction marks in SSLC, CBSE and PUC (Arts, Commerce and Science) along with their parents by offering them medal, certificate, cash prize and flowers.

Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves Spiritual Director of Catholic Sabha honoured five achievers namely Shainy Menezes Pamboor, Andria Pethri, Roy Allan Pernal (CA Exam Pass), Pavithra Menezes (Young Village Accountant), Jovita Caroline Andrade (NCC ) on the occasion.

Valerian Ferandes president Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh Presided over the function. Veronica Corenelio (former Chairperson KSDL), John D’Silva and Gladis D’Silva (Chairman of the foundation), Fr Anil D’Souza (Dean Kundapur Deanery), William Machado, Jacintha Culaco, Flyvan D’Souza, Shaila Almieda, Alwyn Quadros and others were present.
