Later speaking to THE media persons Pramod said that on September 5 evening I received a message that a deep sea boat has hit on a rock on the North side of St Mary’s Island, 4 Nautical miles from Malpe port and all seven fishermen have climbed a rock for safety. Immediately I informed SP Balakrishna and Coastal SP Chennabasappa.

After instructions from me the coastal security police rushed to the spot and tried to rescue the fishermen but they refused to come down from the rock because of the rough sea. The whole night they spent on the rock. Today morning around 6 am the coastal security police rescued all seven people and admitted them to the government hospital Udupi. All the seven are out of danger. I will discuss with the home minister to reward the CSP for their bravery work, he added.
