Customs at MIA Seize Foreign Currency Worth Rs 3.54 Lakh

Mangaluru: The Customs officers at the MIA seized Foreign Currency of the following countries, 18500 Saudi Arabian Riyals, 260 UAE Dirhams, 100 Bahrain Dinars and Rs 2200 Indian Rupees from a passenger who was travelling to Dubai on August 29.

The customs officers seized currency of different countries worth Rs 3.54 Lakh from Ulwar Khader on August 29.

On August 29, Ulwar Khader was travelling by Air India Express to Dubai from Mangaluru Airport. At 7:00 pm Ulwar Khader arrived at the departure section, the CISF staff while checking at the gate found the foreign currency of various denominations in his trouser pocket.

The said passenger attempted to smuggle Foreign Currency out of India without valid money exchange documents.

The CISF staff handed over the currency to the Customs officers for further investigations.
