Daily wage Labourer Ravi Katapdi wears Ashtami Vesha for noble cause
Udupi: Everyone earns for a living and for the well being of their family but a daily wage Labourer Ravi Katapdi is earring for a special cause from the last three years Ravi Katapadi who has studied up to class 9, isn’t just a creative man but has a large heart too. Despite earning just Rs 450 to Rs 550 per day as a centring worker, he has decided to help 4 children who are suffering from a medical disorder.
Ravi will be helping Lavanya of Moodibidri, Mehek of Shivamogga, Sunitha Prakash of Dendoorkatte and another child from Bannaje. Ravi is wearing the Krampus costume, a half-goat, half-demon. Ravi is known to wear creative costumes and mesmerise the people, it is not just wearing costumes but his intention of only helping the people is clear. Ravi is involved in centring work and apart from collecting money by wearing the costume he also keeps his share from his monthly savings to help poor people in need.
In 2014 he collected rupees 1.04 lakh and helped Anvitha from Ellampalli. During the 2015 Shri Krishnashtami Ravi disguised as a Lizardman from the movie Amazing Spiderman and performed for 20 hours collecting Rs 3.2 lakh which he donated towards the treatment of five children. Ravi handed over the amount in the presence of Annamalai former SP of Udupi. Annamalai also helped Ravi with rupees 10,000, Annamalai was moved by the good gesture and spirit of Ravi. In 2016 too he also collected money and distributed among 4 needy children.
The money collected on Ashtami will be distributed for the health care of four needy children. The amount will be distributed on September 19 at 4:00 pm by Esha Vitala Dasa Swamiji of Kemaru Math, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Priyanka Mary Francis and SP, Udupi Dr Sanjeev Patil.
