Los Angeles, Feb 27 (IANS) “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” star Daisy Ridley is going to record a song with “a massive superstar”, says director J.J. Abrams.
“One day on set, she just started singing and had the most beautiful voice I ever heard,” Abrams recently said at the US-Ireland Alliance’s Oscar Wilde Awards, where Ridley was among this year’s honorees, reports eonline.com.
Just the other day, Ridley told Abrams: “On Saturday, this weekend, she is going to record a song with an unnamed person, but let’s just say a massive superstar.”
Ridley showed off her singing skills when she and her “Star Wars” co-star Oscar Isaac sang a duet of “Baby, it’s old outside” while promoting their movie during a Twitter chat in December.

Singer Selena Gomez has made it clear that she didn’t want to talk about her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber anymore.
The “Hands to myself” hitmaker recently threatened to delete her Instagram account after some fans accused her of dissing the “Sorry” singer in her latest post, which she later deleted, reports aceshowbiz.com.
The drama began when the 23-year-old singer uploaded on Instagram a video of herself singing to rapper Lil Wayne’s song “Single” while driving. Out of nowhere, she suddenly said: “I sure did go through that motherf**ker’s s**t. I’m single.”
Her words led her followers to speculate that she was d**sing Bieber. As more people accused her of her ex-beau, the “Same old love” singer posted her reaction in the comments section.
She fired back at haters by dropping a comment in all caps.
“That’s a joke. I was singing back to Lil Wayne. My life isn’t about my ex,” she said, implying that the video had nothing to do with Bieber.
She later threatened to delete her account after some Instagram users told her that her post could cause some drama.
“I want to delete my Instagram. There’s no drama. Everyone else creates drama. Including this post,” she wrote.
Kelly Clarkson cried during ‘American Idol’ performance
Singer Kelly Clarkson, who was crowned the first winner of “American Idol” in 2002, broke down while performing at the singing reality show recently.
She appeared as a guest judge on the farewell season of the show.
Clarkson also performed at the end of the show. She broke down mid-song and made tears stream down singers Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez’s faces too, reports eonline.com.
She performed her emotional song “Piece by piece” that made everyone become emotional.
The episode also saw Clarkson look back at some of her most memorable moments from her “American Idol” season.
Elton John accuses Janet Jackson of ‘lip-syncing’
British musician Elton John has accused singer Janet Jackson of “lip-syncing” during her live shows.
In an interview with the Rolling Stones magazine, John also expressed disagreement over the fact that music critics give the diva’s concerts rave reviews, reports aceshowbiz.com.
“You know, f**king music magazines writing a review of Janet Jackson saying, ‘This is the greatest show – four and a half stars.’ It’s f**king lip-synced,” John claimed.
“Hello! That’s not a show! I’d rather go and see a drag queen. F**k off,” he added.
Jackson, who collaborated with John on the 1999 hit “I know the truth”, has yet to respond to his accusation.
She is now gearing up to resume her tour, which comes in support of her 2015 comeback album “Unbreakable”, after rescheduling a number of its shows due to her health condition.
Louis Tomlinson in custody battle over child
One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has reportedly hired a legal team in a custody battle over his newborn son Freddie.
The singer was said to be on good terms with the mother of his child Briana Jungwirth. However, things seem to have gone awry with the fashion stylist allegedly demanding more money, reports tmz.com.
Insiders close to Tomlinson, 24, have claimed that she is “using” their one-month-old son, Freddie Reign, to score more money than their current agreement.
It has been claimed that he has had a DNA test, but insists that there is no doubt that Freddie is his child because the couple was dating exclusively in the time that Jungwirth fell pregnant.
Tomlinson will reportedly be asking a judge to order Jungwirth to give him custodial rights, as well as more access to their son.
