Datta Peeta Abhiyan to Flag off on December 12
Mangaluru: “The Datta Mala Abhiyan will be held from December 12 to 21 and will culminate on December 22 with the Datta Paduke Darshana. More than 15,000 devotees from Mangaluru and Udupi will take part in the Abhiyan”, said Bajrang Dal leader Murali Hansathadka in a press meet held at the VHP office here on December 10.
Addressing the mediapersons Murali said, “On December 20, Sri Anasuya Devi Puja, Ganapati Homa and Durga Homa will be held at the Datta Peeta. At 9:30 am the women will carry out Sankeerthana Yatra and the Datta Peeta darshan will be held. On December 21, Gana Homa and Rudra Homa will be held at the Datta Peeta and Shobha yatra will be held at Chikkamagaluru. On December 22, the Abhiyan will conclude with the Gana Homa, Datta Homa and a Darshan will be held.”
Murali further said, “We urge the government to appoint Hindu Archaks for the Puja. One permanent Hindu officer will be appointed at the Datta Peeta. Permission should not be given to any Islamic activities at the Datta Peeta because it is a holy shrine of Shree Guru Dattatreya Bababudan Swamy. Investigations should be done in regard to the missing valuable idols from the Datta Peeta and they should be recovered. All the devotees and Swamijis should be given the opportunity to offer Puja”.
Bajrang Leaders Sunil K R, Bhujang Kulal, Praveen Kuthar, Punith Attavar and Naveen Moodushedde were also present.
