Davanagere: In the early hours of Thursday, a team of officials from Lokayukta led by SP Sridhar conducted raids on the houses in Honnali and Kundur, office, outhouse, hostel and educational institution belonging to M P Renukacharya, who was the excise minister in the previous BJP government led by B S Yeddyurappa.
At the same time, a team led by DySP Nagaraj raided the former minister’s house near R K Garden on BEL Road in Bengaluru and also on the Bapuji educational institutions in Shivamogga taluk.
The Lokayukta court in Davanagere had ordered a probe after anti-corruption activist Gurupadaiah had submitted a complaint against Renukacharya, alleging amassing wealth disproportionate to known sources of income.
