Day-long ‘Janata curfew’ gets Good Response in Udupi Dist
Udupi: On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal, a day-long ‘Janata curfew’ began on Sunday, March 22 in Udupi District as people prepare to combat the possible outbreak of coronavirus in the country.
Business establishments, shops, vegetable markets and the APMC were closed. With the Janta Curfew in effect, streets across the Udupi City wore a deserted look on Sunday morning.
Roads were deserted as autorickshaws and other private and commercial vehicles, including state transport buses, stayed away.
Catholic Churches suspended the Sunday Masses in all the churches of the district. Temples and Mosques also suspended their activities in the district.
