DC Dr Jagadeesha Inaugurates Annual Police Sports Meet
Mangaluru City Police and Dakshina Kannada District Police jointly organised the Annual police sports meet at the police grounds here on January 9.
The programme began with an invocation. Superintendent of Police Bhushan Borase welcomed the gathering.
Deputy commissioner Dr Jagadeesha declared the Annual police sports meet open by releasing the balloons into the air and freeing the doves.
Addressing the gathering DC Jagadeesha said, “In Karnataka, DK police are doing a wonderful job in maintaining law and order. Five months ago, when I came here as a DC, there were challenges but the police have efficiently faced them. The police department strives hard to maintain law and order in the district. Many times when there are government programmes the police officers along with their teams worked very hard.”
DC further said, “The Police job is not so easy they are always under physical and mental pressure. To work efficiently we need to be physically fit and mentally sharp. To be physically fit and mentally sharp we need to have good exercise. Sports should not be limited to competitions alone but we need to inculcate sport in our day-to-day life. Sports will keep us physically fit and mentally sharp”.
