DC Jagadish Visits Flood-affected Areas in Udupi
Udupi: Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh along with Superintendent of Police Vishnuvardhan visited various flood-affected areas of the district including Navunda, Badakere, Uppoor etc. to take stock of the flood situation on August 9.
The district has been receiving heavy rainfall for two days, and many places have been affected by floods. People in many villages have been taken to safer places. The Deputy Commissioner has directed the officials to ensure that people are safe.
Incessant rains in the catchment areas have resulted in floodwaters inundating many houses and destroying standing crops in the district. Heavy rains have damaged many houses, and flash floods inundated the paddy crop.
