DC Priyanka Mary Releases Final Electoral Roll for Forthcoming LS Elections

Udupi: The final electoral roll for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in five constituencies of Udupi district was released by deputy commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis at the DC office on January 16 in the presence of representatives of political parties.

As per the latest electoral rolls till 2019 January 1, the district has 9,90,773 voters, consisting of 4,77,243 Male, 5,13,523 female.

The Election Commission has published the voters’ lists for the Lok Sabha constituencies of Udupi district such as Byndoor, Kundapur, Udupi, Kaup and Karkala. “Eligible voters could still enrol their names for the inclusion in the voters’ list,” DC Priyanka said.

Constituency wise, the total electorate in Udupi is 2,05,566 out of which 99598 are men and 1,05,968 are women. The total electorate in Kaup is 1,81,178 out of which 86,308 are men and 94,870 women. In Karkala, the total number of voters is 1,81,386 out of which 86,921 are men and 94,465 are women. In Kundapur, the total voters are 2,00,101 out of which 96,164 are men and 1,03,937 women. In Byndoor, the total voters are 2,22,542 out of which 1,08,252 are men and 1,14,290 are women. As many as 4793 youth voters have been added.

The voters’ list of all the five Assembly constituencies has been given to all the political parties. If there are any discrepancies in the voters’ list, they should inform the district administration.

The administration has also opened a toll free number: 1950, where people could lodge their complaints regarding the voters’ lists.

As per the directions of the Chief election commission of India the district administration will organise National Voters’ Day in the Town Hall, Udupi on January 25, she said.
