DC Sindhu Asks Clarification from MIA on Complaints Regarding Handling Passengers on Arrival

Mangaluru: “Certain sections of Media have reported that the passengers who landed on May 12, at the Mangaluru International airport had to face certain difficulties on arrival. Even though it was known that yesterday’s flight would carry passengers of special categories such as pregnant women and people requiring medical support, it has been reported that the airport had not arranged sufficient human resources such as Porters, Assistant staff etc. Also, the passengers were not briefed adequately on the procedure involved at the airport”, stated the press release by Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Roopesh asking clarification from the Director of the Mangaluru International Airport on May 13.

DC further stated, “I had specifically instructed the staff at the airport during my visit on May 9 to take up all the necessary arrangements to support the passengers on arrival. So it is requested that you personally oversee the arrangements during the next flight so that such incidents don’t recur and also help the District Administration in coordinating with the airport authorities and the concerned airlines ferrying the passengers.
