DC Sindhu Declares Holiday for School and Colleges on Dec 20 in City
Mangaluru: After the situation turned worse in Mangaluru in connection with the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 (CAB), deputy commissioner Sindhu Roopesh declared Holiday for all the Schools and Colleges in the city on December 20.
In Mangaluru, various organizations held protests against the NRC and CAB. On December 19, the protest turned violent as the police resorted to lathi-charge on the protesters near the DC office.
As precautionary measures, Section 144 has been imposed in Dakshina Kannada. To avoid any untoward incidents, Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Roopesh has declared a holiday for all the schools and colleges in the district.
