DDSHS condemns Gauri Lankesh Murder, Demands Security to Bhaskar Prasad

Mangaluru: “We demand the government to arrest the accused in Journalist Gauri Lankesh murder case and provide security to the Convener of Udupi Chalo Bhaskar Prasad who is facing a constant threat to his life. Gauri Lankesh was a thinker, social activist, and a journalist. We congratulate the State government led by Siddaramaiah for handing over Gauri Lankesh murder case to SIT for investigation. We also urge the government to arrest the accused in Gauri Lankesh case as soon as possible”, said the convener of Dalita Damanitara Swabhimani Horata Samiti Raghuveer Suterpete in a press meet held at Hotel Woodlands here on September 8.

Addressing the mediapersons state Vice President of PUCL P B D’Sa said, “Gauri Lankesh was our friend and she used to attend all our programmes. She was involved with us, in the fact finding mission several times. She was having good communication with PUCL. Gauri Lankesh was not killed she was martyred. Gauri was working for the voiceless and she became the voice for the voiceless. After the murder of Gauri Lankesh, the Sangh Parivar has been clarifying that they are not involved in the murder of Gauri Lankesh, but the entire world knows who is behind the murder. The police have failed to arrest the accused in Gauri’s murder case”.

P B D’Sa further said, “After Modi came to power we know what is happening in our country. In our country, there is an undeclared emergency situation. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat and Jagadish Shenava are delivering inciting speeches but police are not arresting them. Even the police department has been saffronized. The Congress and BJP are the two faces of the same coin”.

P B D’Sa also said, “Gauri considered activists Kanhaiya, Mevani, Khalid and Shehla Rashid Shora as her children and accommodated them in her house whenever they came to the city. Every cloud has a silver lining, we see darkness now, soon there will be brightness. All the journalists on earth should unite to give justice to Gauri Lankesh”.

DDSHS members Eshwar, Ramesh, Ganesh Suterpete and Dinesh Mudipu were also present.
