Deepak Murder Accused Pinky Nawaz is BJP Worker – SDPI

Mangaluru: “Dakshina Kannada district has been victimised for communal violence. On January 3, Bajrang Dal activist Deepak Rao was hacked to death. Later in the evening Mubashir and Basheer were attacked which the SDPI strongly condemns. Deepak was murdered by Pinky Nawaz and team who have worked for the BJP in Surathkal to win the last elections”, said the district president of SDPI Haneef Khan Kodaje in a press meet held at his office here on January 4.

Addressing the media persons Haneef Kodaje said, “It is a preplan to create communal violence in the district. By keeping the forthcoming elections in mind the BJP is playing politics with the dead bodies. We congratulate the police for their swift action in arresting Pinky Nawaz and his team. “

Haneef Kodaje further said, “The accused Pinky Nawaz and his family members are working for the BJP and are closely associated it. In the last assembly elections, the family members of Pinky Nawaz had campaigned for BJP. Pinky Nawaz has a criminal background and the BJP is utilizing him to commit crimes. The state government should take this incident seriously and a Special Investigation team should be formed to investigate this case.”

Haneef Kodaje also said, “Udupi MP and Mysuru MP are getting all the information about the murder. They should be investigated since we suspect their involvement in the murder cases. When there are murders in the district, the minister in-charge being in a responsible position putting allegations on the SDPI and PFI is not good. Ramanath Rai is comparing SDPI and PFI with the Hindu organizations and blaming that SDPI has joined hands with the BJP in Savanoor. But so far we have not joined hands with any political party.”

Haneef alleged that the BJP is the only communal party in the country because BJP says they do not want the votes of the Muslims or Christians. BJP wants only the votes of Hindus, do it is creating communal tension in the country. We request the people of the district to maintain peace and help the police department to investigate the Deepak murder case.”
