Deepak Rao murder: VHP, BD and BJP leaders arrested for Roadblock
Udupi: Several leaders of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, BD and BJP were arrested on Friday, January 5 after they staged a ‘roadblock’ at Triveni Circle demanding a ban on two outfits, the Popular Front of India (PFI) and Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI). Traffic came to a halt for some time.
The protesters shouted anti-Siddaramaiah slogans and demanded to ban two outfits, the Popular Front of India (PFI) and Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).
The arrested activists were taken to the Chandu Maidan and released later. Prior to their arrest, senior Hindu leaders addressed the gathering.
Former MLA Raghupathi Bhat, BJP leaders Shreesha Nayak, Yashpal Suvarna, Akshith Shetty Herga, Sheela K Shetty, Geethanjali Suvarna, BD leader Dinesh Mendon, VHP leader Santhosh Suvarna and others were present.
