Delegation Led by Former Minister Ramanath Rai Meets DC Sindhu
Mangaluru: A delegation led by former district minister in-charge Ramanath Rai met deputy commissioner Sindhu Roopesh on March 26, to control the price for essential commodities during the lockdown in the district.
Ramanath Rai along with former minister U T Khader, former MLA J R Lobo, MLC Ivan D’Souza former MLA Moideen Bava, District Congress President Harish Kumar and District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai met the DC. They commended the arrangements made by the district administration during the lockdown to provide essential commodities to the people of Dakshina Kannada District.
At the same time, Ramanath Rai requested the DC to keep a vigil on the vendors who are selling the essential commodities at a higher price. The district administration should monitor the cost of the essential items. Under the ration system, every family should get food grains, said Rai.
Those found violating the guidelines of the lockdown should be punished. The problems faced in the government Wenlock Hospital during the treatment of suspected and positive COVID-19 patients should not be repeated. The district administration should efficiently handle the lockdown by taking strict actions against the violators.
