Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary instructs Bus Operators to Follow Timings
Manipal: The KSRTC bus staff are coping up with the timings prescribed by the Regional Transport Authority, directions are given to the staff to stick to the timings, said a KSRTC official replying to the query by Private Bus Operators Association during the RTA meeting held at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium, Manipal here on June 7.
The private bus operators association says that the KSRTC bus staff are not following the timings prescribed by the RTA, which has led to chaos in the movement of buses. The KSRTC bus staff are delaying the movement of their buses which has resulted in a decrease of passengers for private buses.
The Chairman of RTA and Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis said that the private and KSRTC bus operators should follow the prescribed timings, she directed the KSRTC officials to instruct the bus staff to follow bus timings without fail. She also said that every RTA meeting is witnessing the issue of bus timings. She said that both stakeholders should cooperate and function effectively.
A passenger from Sringeri said that both private and KSRTC buses are seen overtaking in the Agumbe Ghat section, he urged the deputy commissioner and Additional Superintendent of Police Vishnuvardhan to take serious cognizance of the issue.
KSRTC official said that no inconvenience was reported from the public while private bus operators come up with issues. The KSRTC staff are working for the safe travel of the passengers.
