‘DESIGN IDEAS 2018’-a Architecture/Construction/Design Products Exhibit Opens in City
The Mangalore – Manipal Centre of Indian Institute of Architects (IIIA-MMC) is organizing DESIGN IDEAS 2018, a seamless Mega Exhibition of Architecture, Construction and Interior Design products from manufacturers throughout India at TMA Pai Convention Centre, MG Road-Mangaluru on 13th, 14th and 15th of April 2018. The inauguration was held Today, on 13th at 4 pm and the exhibition will be open from 4 pm to 9 pm. On 14th, the exhibition will open between 10 am to 9 pm and on 15th the timings are 10 am to 8 pm.
Mangaluru: While addressing the media persons during a press meet held at Mangalore Press Club, IIA-MMC Chairman Ar. Kumarachandra M R had said that the Mangalore -Manipal Centre of Indian Institute of Architects (IIIA-MMC) will be organizing DESIGN IDEAS 2018, a seamless Mega Exhibition of Architecture, Construction and Interior Design products from manufacturers throughout India at TMA Pai Convention Centre on 13th, 14th and 15th of April 2018. The inauguration was held Today, on 13th at 4 pm and the exhibition will be open from 4 pm to 9 pm. On 14th, the exhibition will open between 10 am to 9 pm and on 15th the timings are 10 am to 8 pm. The Chief Guests for the inauguration were Arun Chakravarthy, IGP – Western Range, Mohammed Nazeer, Commissioner, MCC and K Srikanth Rao, Commissioner, MUDA, which inaugurated the Exhibition by cutting the ribbon and lighting the traditional lamp, amidst board members of IIIA-MMC, and well-wishers.
Ar Kumarachandra had also said that Emphasis and encouragement shall be bestowed on manufacturers and suppliers of those architecture, construction and interior design related products which are sustainable, energy efficient and innovative in nature. Alongside the exhibition, an AWARENESS PAVILION to provide information about Architectural practice and education will be part of the exhibition.The public will be able to see and experience the latest design concepts, building and interior design materials, office and home automation systems, building services and construction equipment’s that are setting trends in Architecture, Construction and Interior Design industry.”
Also speaking during the press meet. Ar Venkatesh Pai-Hon. Secretary of IIA-MMC said, “The Indian Institute of Architects is the national body of architects in the country. Established in 1917, the institute today has more than 20,000 members and plays a major role in promoting the profession of architecture by organizing and uniting the architects of India to promote aesthetic, scientific and practical efficiency of the profession both, in practice and education. The Mangalore – Manipal Centre (IIA-MMC) incorporated in the year 1992, is one among the 50 centres across India affiliated to the national body. Among its members are most of the key architects of Mangalore-Manipal region who actively contribute to the city and society in the field of architecture and urban design. The Council of Architecture (COA) has been constituted by the Government of India under the provisions of the Architects Act, 1972 and is the statutory body to govern the rules & regulations for the profession.”
“Also a conference named “IS ARCHITECTURE AT CROSSROADS?” will be conducted on Saturday, 14th April 2018 at the same venue from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm for Architects, Academicians, Researchers and students of Architecture and Interior Design. The Conference intends to cover wide range of topics from the field of Architecture, Urban design, Heritage, Professional Practice & Education. With ever going demands for higher quality standards in built environment, there is a need for the profession to reflect on its core values & ethics. Suprith Alva – Joint Hon Secretary, and Ar Sunil Talithaya – Convenor were also present at the press meet.
