Deve Gowda downplays PM Modi’s praise on him, rules out alliance with BJP
Bengaluru: As speculations about a BJP-JDS alliance in Karnataka are on the rise, JDS President HD Deve Gowda on Wednesday said that the PM Modi was clever and knows what to speak in each state that he campaigns in.
Deve Gowda also downplayed reports of an alliance with BJP post the elections.
“We will form the government on our own. We will neither join BJP nor Congress. Prime Minister spoke well of me because I’m a Kannadiga who became the Prime Minister and he knows what to speak when he is here,” said Deve Gowda.
Earlier, PM Modi, during a rally, said that he respects Deve Gowda and every time Deve Gowda visits Delhi, PM Modi himself receives him by opening the car door.
When asked about the reports of secret flight to Delhi taken by JDS’ Kumaraswamy, Deve Gowda said that his son will soon lodge a complaint with the election commission on the issue.
86-year-old Deve Gowda criticised Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and said that he has never seen such a government which has stooped to a new low.
“Deve Gowda-Lokayukta institution is dead here because of Congress. Yeddyurappa went to jail because of Lokayukta. Difference between Yeddyurappa and Siddaramaiah is that Siddarmaiah is smart. He brought in ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau) and not Lokayukta,” added Deve Gowda.
Gonnure Gowda baat karta hai.
