Development will Prevail over 2018 Elections – Pramod Madhwaraj
Udupi: Congress has garnered effective vote share in the Gundlupet and Nanjangud constituencies said Pramod Madhwaraj. He was speaking while sharing the joy of the Congress party’s win in the by-elections.
The intensified pre-poll battle by the BJP has shown no results. The effective governance and development have led the Congress to win the by-elections in Gundlupet and Nanjangud constituencies.
While asked Jagadeesh Shettar’s allegation saying that the by-election was won since money power prevailed, Madhwaraj said that if BJP had won the by-elections they would have termed it as the Modi wave or Yeddyurappa wave, since they have lost the elections they are saying that the election has been won with money power. BJP needs to learn a lesson that Gundlupet and Nanjangud people have shown Yeddyurappa who claims to be a Lingayath leader where Lingayaths are in majority.
While asked about the political future of Shrinivas Prasad, Madhwaraj said that he had levelled false allegations on him saying he had given a bribe of rupees 10 crore to the High command, it has hurt him.
While asked about the statement given by Shrinivas Prasad saying that the Congress has utilised money during the last 3 days of the elections, Pramod said that it is not very easy to distribute money to the people, the election commission, and the IAS officials have kept a stringent vigil on the election campaign. 50 cars belonging to the Congress were seized; the utilisation of money in elections is far from the truth.
The government has utilized rupees 575 crores for Udupi alone for the construction of bridges, it signifies that people will vote for Congress in 2018 elections under CM Siddaramaiah, he added.
