Devotees Hold Colourful ‘ Hasiru Hore Kanike’ Procession to Mark Dedication Ceremony of the Suvarna Gopura
Udupi: As a part of the dedication ceremony of the Suvarna Gopura and the Brahmakumbhabhisheka ceremony to Lord Krishna, a colourful ‘Hore Kanike’ procession was taken out in the city on the evening of June 4, 2019.
Shri Mohandas Paramahamsa Swamiji, the Seer of Shridhama Manila along with Kondevuru Sri Yogananda Swamiji flagged off the Hasiru Hore Kanike procession at Jodukatte.
More than 200 vehicles took part in the procession. The Hore Kanike procession included Chande, a Saxophone troupe, and other cultural troupes. The procession passed through Big Bazar, Old Taluk Office, Diana Circle, K M Marg, Triveni Circle, Sanskrith College Road, and culminated near the Krishna Math.
The ceremony to dedicate the Suvarna Gopura to Lord Krishna will be held on June 6, and the Brahmakalshotsava ceremony will held on June 9.
Members of the Muslim community (led by Anasar Ahammed) donated 6000 liters of drinking water, along with food grains and other items.
