DGP Prisons Sathyanarayan inaugurates Visitors Gallery at District Sub Jail
Mangaluru: The DGP of Prisons Sathyanarayan inaugurated the Visitors gallery at the District Sub Jail here on May 3.
After the inauguration addressing the gathering DGP of Prisons, Sathyanarayan said, “Today we have inaugurated the visitor’s gallery in the sub-jail at a cost of Rs 17.5 lakh. The visitor’s gallery will help the people who come to see the inmates of the Jail as well those who come to visit their family members feel comfortable to talk to their loved ones. Priority will be given to the safety in district sub-jail. We will take measures to install Mobile Security Poles instead of Jammers,” he added.
Sathyanarayan further said, “The district sub-jail is considered similar to the Bengaluru jail. We will be shifting the sub-jail to the outskirts of Mangaluru soon. The new Prison will be built on 68 acres of land at a cost of Rs 200 crore at Mudipu”.
DGP of Prisons Sathyanarayan also laid the foundation stone to the entrance of the district sub-jail which will be constructed at a cost of Rs 12.5 lakh.
