‘Dheera Mahile Parivarthanege Kahale’ Marks SSW and DJSC Women’s Day
Mangaluru: To mark the International Women’s day, the Dharma Jyothi Social Centre in association with School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya organized a programme “Dheera Mahile Parivarthanege Kahale”, at Vamanjoor Junction here on March 8.
The programme began with an invocation. President of Sauharda Okkuta, Amuda welcomed the gathering. The programme was inaugurated by the Corporator of Thiruvail Ward Vamanjoor Hemalatha Raghu Salian by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering Hemalatha said, “Today we are celebrating the International Women’s day. Women are the symbol of trust and if they will be given the opportunity they will do wonders in every field. In olden days, women considered their house to be everything but now women are educated. We should not forget the men, while we celebrate the Women’s day. Behind every successful man there is a woman and at the same time behind every successful woman, man will also play the vital role. We need to treat men and women equally”.
A “Lucky woman”, draw was held which was conducted by Sr Reema. The winner of Lucky” “Woman” draw was Nafisa who was later felicitated with the “Veera Mahile 2017”, title on the occasion.
President of Dharma Jyothi Social Centre Sr Zeena D’Souza presided over the programme. The students of Social Work Roshni Nilaya presented a skit “Women Empowerment”. Advocate Asha Rani Mada delivered a talk on Women’s day.
ZP President Seema Melwyn D’Souza, Sr Reema Crasta, Sr Joyal Lasrado and others were also present.
