Diamond firm in Surat to gift 600 cars to staff as Diwali gift, two women to get keys from PM Modi
Surat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on behalf of a Surat-based diamond firm, will hand over car keys to two women employees of the firm on Thursday, under a ‘Skill India Incentive Ceremony’. The firm, Hari Krishna Exports, will at the same time conduct the ceremony in Surat and will give cars to 600 of its diamond polishers.
The chairman of the firm, Savji Dholakia said, “This year we have shortlisted 1,600 diamond polishers working in our company who performed well adding to the growth of the company. We wanted to give them incentives. Thus, whoever was interested in car will receive cars and the rest will be given Fixed deposits and flats. This is an effort to motivate them to perform even better in the future.”
According to sources, the diamond polishers will receive Maruti Suzuki Alto and Maruti Suzuki Celerio cars. The company has been giving such gifts to employees for the last four years, Dholakia said. So far, around 4000 of the 5500 employees have received such gifts as Diwali bonuses.
The ceremony where PM Modi will hand over the keys to the two women employees will be telecast live for the employees in Surat.
“One girl Kajal, who is physically handicapped, works in the planning department. Kajal and the other girl Hiralben left for Delhi on Wednesday. They will meet Prime Minister Narenra Modi on Thursday who will give them car keys,” Dholakia said.
The company has so far gifted 300 flats to diamond polishers. The same number of flats is under constructions for the employees, a company official said.
According to officials, the company named the ceremony for conferring these gifts as Skill India Incentive Ceremony to encourage the employees to work harder.
