Miami, (IANS/EFE) Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios, near Orlando, Florida, has removed the bronze bust of actor Bill Cosby from its theme park after it became known earlier this week that the comic drugged women to be able to sexually abuse them.

A spokesperson for Walt Disney World confirmed to Fox 35 News that the firm removed the bronze bust of Cosby, 77, on Tuesday night from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame Plaza on Lake Buena Vista.

The removal of the bust came a day after it became known that court documents indicate that Cosby in 2005 admitted under oath acquiring Quaaludes to give to women with whom he wanted to have sex.

Although the case was closed after the parties reached an out-of-court settlement for an undisclosed sum, the case documents’ release comes at a time when Cosby is facing dozens of accusations from women who claim that he drugged and then raped them, in some cases more than 40 years ago.

Linda Traitz was the woman who seven months ago launched a petition campaign on the Change.org website to get Disney to remove the Cosby bust.

Cosby during the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s was the best-known and most popular comedian on US television and NBC’s “The Cosby Show” set a TV precedent, although the network recently announced that due to the sexual scandals surrounding the actor it would not work with him again.
