District Admin Committed to Utilize Grant for Differently-abled – DC Hephsiba Rani
Udupi: Deputy commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati said that the district administration is committed to utilize the 5% grant of the MLA and MP funds for the betterment of the differently-abled persons.
She was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the world Red Cross Day at the Red Cross Bhavan on Wednesday, May 8.
The Red Cross serves on humanitarian grounds around the world, we cannot imagine its service and help to the poor since its inception. The district administration is ready to provide all kind of support to the Udupi district Red Cross Unit. Today we have inaugurated the new artificial limbs unit in Udupi district. BPL Card holders can avail free artificial limbs, others can also avail these services at discount rates, she said.
DC Hephsiba Rani distributed artificial limbs for seven differently-abled persons on the occasion.
Indian Red Cross National Managing committee member Basruru Rajeev Shetty, District differently-abled persons development officer Niranjan Bhat, Udupi Unit Secretary Balakrishna Shetty and others were also present.
