District Administration to Hold Karavali Utsav-2017 from Dec 22

Mangaluru: A variety of cultural programmes are scheduled between 22 to 31 December on the occasion of Karavali Utsav being organized by the Dakshina Kannada District Administration at the Stage of Exhibition ground Mangaluru and Kadri Park which will be held every day in the evening between 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The cultural programmes will be presented by the budding local artists of Dakshina Kannada, State and other National and International fame. They include Carnatic Classical Music, Hindustani Classical Music, Light Music, Bharatanatyam, Dance Drama, Magic Show, Yakshagana, Talamaddale and Tulu Drama.

The programme will begin with a cultural procession from Nehru Maidan at 3.30 pm on 22 December followed by Inauguration at Karavali Utsav Maidan at 6.00 pm on that day.

The programme details are as follows:

December 23 – 6.00 pm-7.00pm there will be a Saxophone play by Dr Machchendranath and Team from Mangalore. From 7.00 pm to 9.30 pm ‘Shambhavi Vilasa’ Yakshagana by Satvik Teja Kalakendra ® from Odiyur by women artistes.

December 24- 6.00 pm-7.30 pm Bhavageeta and folk songs by Swarashree Sangeetha Vidyalaya, Mangalore. From 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm Bharath Natyam by Saurabha Sangeetha Kala Parishath ®, Yeyyadi, Mangalore.

December 25 – 6.00 pm to 7.30 pm Sugama Sangeetha by Sri Chandrashekhara Hedge and Team from Puttur. From 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm, Yakshagana by Shree Vinayaka Yakshagana Mandali, Suratkal.

December 26- 6.00 pm-8.00 pm, Talamaddale by Sri Jabbar Samo and team. From 8.00 pm to 9.00 pm, Karavali Samskritika Vaibhava by Media Friends, Mangalore.

December 27 -6.00 pm -7.00pm – Bahubhasha Kavigoshti by Kannada Balaga. From 7.00 pm to 9.30 pm a Tulu Comedy Drama ‘Kode Budpale’ directed by Sri Devadar Kapikad, Mangalore.

December 28 – 6.00 pm-7.30 pm a Dance Metaphor ‘Nenapadalu Shakunthale’ by Nada Nrutya Institution, Mangalore. From 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm Dakshina Kannada Cultural Variety Entertainment Programme by Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy.

December 29 – 6.00pm-7.00pm Cultural Extravaganza by CARDTS Samvedana Manemakkalu, Mangalore. From 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm Dakshina Kannada Konkani Cultural Programme by Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy.

December 30 – 6.00 pm-7.00 pm, ‘Bharathanatya Sambrama’ by Vidushi Kumari Annapoorna Shetty and Team, Kinnigoli. From 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm Dakshina Kannada Tulu Cultural Programme by Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy.

December 31 – 6.00 pm-7.00 pm, ‘Sangeetha Saurabha’ by State Awardee Blind Artiste Kumari Kasturi and Team. From 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm Kannada Drama ‘Rudrabheema’ by Sri Gururaj Marpalli and Team from Udupi.

The programmes to be conducted on the Kadri Park Stage are as follows:

December 22 – 6.00 pm-7.15pm Carnatic Classic Singing by Vidushi Shankari Murthy Balila and Team, Puttur. From 7.15 pm to 9.00 pm ‘Vismaya Jadoo’ by Mega Magic Star Kudroli Ganesh and Team, Mangalore.

December 23 – 6.00 pm-7.45 pm – Dance Glory – ‘Shivam’ by Sri Vaibhav Arekar and Team, Mumbai. From 7.45 pm to 9.30 pm Sitar Instrumental by Padmashree Awardee Ustad Shahid Parvez, Pune.

December 24 – 6.00 am-7.30 am ‘Udayaraga’ – Dasa Kirthanegalu by Kumari Yashaswini and Team, Moodbidri From 7.30 am to 8.30 am- Yoga Show and Meditation by Yogaratna Gopalkrishna Delampady and Team, Mangalore. From 6.00 pm to 7.15 pm Violin Jugalbandhi by Sri Tejas Manjunath and Sri Pranav Manjunath, Bangalore. From 7.15 pm to 9.15 pm –‘Raga Ondu, Bhava Halavu’ by Smt. Keerthana Rao and Team, Mangalore.

December 25 – 6.00 pm – 7.45 pm, Devotional Songs by Dr. Vidyabhushana and Team, Bangalore. From 7.45 pm to 9.30 pm Dance Metaphor by Natyalaya, Urwa ®, Mangalore.

December 26 – 6.00 pm–7.15 pm, Hindustani Classical Singing and Dasavani by Sri Dhananjay Hegde and Team, Mumbai. From 7.15 pm to 9.00 pm Hindustani Classical Singing, Dasavani and Songs by Vidushi Sangeetha Katti and Team, Bangalore.

December 27 – 6.00 pm–7.30 pm ‘Carnatic Flute Singing’ by Sri Prapancham S. Balachandran and Team, Chennai. From 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm ‘Carnatic Classical Singing’ by Naiveli Santana Gopalan and Team, Chennai.

December 28 – 5.00 pm–9.00 pm ‘Yuva Utsav’ by the students of various colleges of the district.

December 29 – 5.00 pm–9.00 pm ‘Yuva Utsav’ by the students of various colleges of the district.

December 30 – 6.00 pm–7.00 pm ‘Dasavani’ by Sri Uttam Kumar and Team, Mangalore. From 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm “Sangeeta Rasamanjari” by Voice of Music, Mangalore.

10 am to 6 pm-‘Karavali Cartoon Fest’.

December 31 – 6.00 am–8.00 am– Udayaraga-Hindustani Classical Singing by Pt. Balachandra Nakod and Team, Hubli. From 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm ‘Santoor Jugalbandhi’ Padmashree Awardee Pt. Bhajan Sopori, Abhay Rustum Sopori and Team, New Delhi. From 8.00 pm to 9.15 pm, ‘Gotipuva Nrutya Vaibhav’ by Abhinna Sundar Gotipuva Nrutya Parishat, Puri, Orissa.

10 am to 6 pm-‘Karavali Cartoon Fest‘
