District Administration Observes International Yoga Day
Mangaluru: The district administration observed the ‘International Yoga Day’ at the Mini-Town Hall here, on June 21.
The programme was inaugurated by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais.
Addressing the gathering, Nalin Kumar Kateel said, “Today 60 countries are observing International Yoga Day. Yoga is good for a person to remain healthy. Nowadays youth are attracted towards Yoga. Yoga is a positive way of life that teaches relaxation, positive thinking, truthfulness and healthy living. Yoga can make us feel lively and energetic. In Mangaluru, the district administration organised the International yoga day in a systematic way. Let us all take part in such programmes and keep ourselves healthy.”
Yoga Guru Gopalakrishna Derlampady said, “The yoga therapy went on well, everyone has performed well. Yoga is good to relieve mental stress, joint pain, back pain, spondylosis, headache etc.” He wished all the participants the best and advised them to continue practicing Yoga.
Prajapitha Brahmakumari Eshwariya Vishwavidyalaya Brahmakumari Vishweshwari performed Yoga for the mind.
Mayor Kavitha Sanil, DC Dr Jagadeesha, DCP Law and Order Shantharaju, ZP CEO Dr Ravi, Mohammed Monu, ADC Kumar, DHO Dr Ramakrishna, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, students from Various colleges, Home guards and police personnel participated in the International Yoga Day.
