District Administration to Hold Karavali Utsav from Dec 21
Mangaluru: A variety of cultural programmes are scheduled between 21 to 30 December on the occasion of Karavali Utsav being organized by the DK District Administration at the Karavali Utsav grounds, Kadri Park and Panambur Beach which will be held every day in the evening between 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
The cultural programmes will be presented by budding local artistes of State, National and International fame. They include Carnatic Classical Music, Hindustani Classical Music, Light Music, Bharatanatyam, Dance Drama, Magic Show, Yakshagana, Talamaddale and Tulu Drama.
Addressing the mediapersons DC Sasikanth Senthil said, “The programme will begin with a cultural procession from Nehru Maidan at 3:30 pm on 21 December followed by the Inauguration at Karavali Utsav grounds at 6.00 pm on that day.”
The procession which will be inaugurated at Nehru Maidan by the district minister in-charge U T Kader will culminate at the Karavali Utsav Grounds. Minister Khader will also inaugurate the Exhibition at the Karavali Utsav grounds at 5:30 pm, followed by the inauguration of Karavali Utsav by renowned music director and film actor Guru Kiran. MLA Vedavyas Kamath will preside over the function.
On December 28, a Cartoon competition will be held for students. All the events are open to all art lovers. All are requested to attend with friends and family and enjoy the Karavali Utsav.
