District BJP demands resignation of K J George in DySP MK Ganapathy’s Suicide Case
Udupi: As a state-wide call the Udupi district BJP organized a protest on Saturday, near the BJP district office, demanding the resignation of Bengaluru Development Minister K J George in the wake of the Supreme Court ordering a CBI probe into the alleged suicide of a DySP MK Ganapathy.
Addressing the protesters Mattar Rathnakar Hegde president of Udupi district BJP said that for conducting an impartial inquiry, minister K J George should resign, if he is not willing to step down, Chief Minister Siddaramiah should dismiss him immediately. Also, the chief minister must suspend senior police officials, A M Prasad and Pronab Mohanty, who had allegedly harassed Ganapathy.
Ganapathy had named K J George and additional DGP, A M Prasad and Lokayukta IGP Pronab Mohanty, in the death note. However, the CID had given a clean chit to the minister and the concerned police officials. If our demands are not met, we will launch a huge agitation and protest against the Congress government, he added.
Udupi ZP president Dinakar Babu, Vice-president Sheela K Shetty, BJP leaders Syamala Kunder, Uday Kumar Shetty, Shreesha Nayak, Akshith Shetty Herga, Shilpa Suvarna, Suresh Nayak, Rajesh Kaveri, Prabhakar Poojary, Nalini Pradeep Rao, Kuthyaru Naveen Shetty, Gureme Suresh Shetty and others were present.
