District BJP protest against Baig’s remarks, arrested for Rasta Roko
Udupi: BJP workers staged a protest at Ambalpadi Junction on Tuesday, October 17, against Urban Development Minister R Roshan Baig for his “offensive remarks” against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The protesters raised slogans against Baig and the Congress party. They alleged that being a people’s representative, Baig should not have passed “loose” remarks against the PM. The agitators questioned the contribution of the Congress party to the state. The protesters also demanded suitable action against the minister.
Later all the protesters proceeded to block the National Highway at Ambalpadi junction but were arrested by the police.
District BJP president Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, BJP leaders Yashpal Suvarna, Uday Kumar Shetty, Rajesh Kaveri, Geethanjali Suvarna, Veena Shetty, Akshith Shetty Herga, Roshan Shetty and others were present.
