District Congress holds Vijayotsava at Mallikatta

Mangaluru: The district Congress Committee holds Vijayotsava in front of DCC office Mallikatta here on May 19.

The Supreme Court had directed for the Karnataka Assembly floor test on May 19 at 4:00 pm but B S Yeddyurappa unable to face the floor test tendered his resignation to the Governor.

On May 21, the Congress and the JD(S) will form the government. In this connection, the District Congress Committee held victory celebrations in front of the DCC office, Mallikatta.

Speaking to the mediapersons, former MLA J R Lobo said, “Today the BJP failed to prove the majority in the floor test. 51 hours ago, B S Yeddyurappa took the oath as the CM without taking anyone into confidence and he has tendered his resignation today. This is the first time in history that a CM has resigned in just 51 hours. The BJP leaders were aware that they did not have a clear majority to form the government yet they misused the power. Even the governor misused his power and called Yeddyurappa to form the government without a majority.”

J R Lobo further said, “When the Congress and JD(S) had the majority to form the government, Yeddyurappa still assured to prove that he would have the majority. The BJP is famous for illegal trading like indulging in horse trading and buying our MLAs. The BJP is the most corrupt party involved in misleading the youth; they have even fooled the voters. I urge voters not to vote such leaders who are trying to murder democracy by fooling them. Voters should not allow the BJP to come to power even for an hour.”

Lobo also said, “On May 21, the Congress and JD(S) will form the government. Both parties have good knowledge in administration. I hope the coalition government will give good governance. I wish the new government all the very best.”

What exactly is this victory celebration from Congress today in aid of? Morally speaking, absolutely nobody was a winner in this election, not the least of which is the Karnataka electorate. The possibility of congress forming alliance government with JDS is only a saving grace for the taxpayer from spending another Rs. 11000 crore on yet another election. Speaking of the moral aspect to this drama, Congress was the first who was sold out like a harlot and surrendered to JDS unconditionally. Just with the intention of keeping the largest party out of power, in a move which looks like… Read more »

The ex-MLA in blue shirt had no time all these years for events like ‘Swachcha campaign’. But, he has plenty of time for other things like ‘vijayotsava’. I’m glad people taught him a lesson last week.
