District Police to hold Awareness on Blue Whale Game – SP Sanjeev Patil
Udupi: “An awareness programme on the blue whale game will be organized in schools”, said District Superintendent of Police Dr Sanjeev Patil. He was speaking to the media persons during the 4th-week phone in programme at the DPO, here on September 9.
Addressing the mediapersons Dr Sanjeev Patil said, “The district has not received any complaints about the blue whale game. Instead of regretting later, the department will organize programmes in schools on the blue whale game. Teachers should take special initiative on creating awareness about the outcome of the blue whale game among students”.
A total of 26 calls were received among which the highest calls were received on traffic issues in the district. The commuters in city buses are given stops on the National highway in Ambalpday. The service road in Ambalpady is flooded with parked vehicles which make stopping the buses on the service road difficult. SP said that he will take cognizance of the issue.
Vehicles are parked near Syndicate circle to Big Bazaar road creating hurdles to pedestrians during the evening hours. SP said that the concerned police station will take effective action.
An illegal stone quarry is functioning in Ulsoor, Kundapur. The caller urged for effective action. SP said that police and mines department will hold a joint operation and initiate action.
A caller said that gambling activities are still rampant in Kota and Bramhavar, he urged for swift action. Another caller said that a stone quarry is risking the lives of the people in Jannadi, Kundapur and urged to fence the stone quarry, SP said that effective action will be initiated.
The callers also urged to take action against illegal liquor sale, traffic and other issues.
SP Patil said that 14 cases on Matka have been registered and 17 accused have been arrested. 3 cases of gambling are registered and 18 accused are arrested. One case has been registered for the illegal sale of liquor. These cases have been registered after 3rd phone-in programme.
Some people are making fake calls on banking transactions, people should not fall prey to such fake calls. Calls asking for online banking passwords, ATM pin code etc should be ignored and any information on banking transactions should not be shared.
