District Round State Level ROTEX Debate 2017 to held on Nov 2
Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district round of the state level debating event ROTEX Debate 2017, will be held at Canara High School – CBSE, Dongarkeri in the city on Thursday (November 2). The event which is being held for the third year is being promoted by Rotary Club of Moodabidri Temple Town and Innovative Learning Foundation, Moodabidri and conducted by Centre for Integrated Learning, a Mangaluru based individual development organisation.
Rotex Debate is a unique format of debate which provides a platform for the high school students to exhibit their oratory skills as they debate on various topics of relevance. The winners of the district round will participate in the state level mega finals at Excellent Pre-University College in Moodabidri.
The debating event is being conducting since 2015 and in both the previous occasions, students from Mysore have reigned supreme. The event is being conducted in as many as ten districts of the states including Mysore, Mandya, Belgaum, Madikeri among others. The first district-level event held at Hubli-Dharwad recently evoked a tremendous response with as many as 120 teams and 240 speakers participating. Senior journalist Srinivasan Nandagopal will be anchoring the debating event.
