District Youth Congress Demands resignation of MP Nalin Kumar
Mangaluru: The members of the District Youth Congress staged a protest against MP Nalin Kumar for abusing the Police officer on duty at the Clock Tower here on September 9.
Addressing the protesters President of the District Youth Congress Mithun Rai said, “MP Nalin Kumar Kateel is not fit to be an MP because of his arrogant goonda attitude with a police officer on duty. MP Nalin should resign. In the District, it is the duty of the elected representatives to work for the betterment of the people and the development of the district but our MP is abusing a police officer on duty. The Dakshina Kannada police are working day and night for the safety of the people. On September 7, during the BJP Yuva Morcha Mangaluru Chalo rally several protesters were arrested. On the same day, MP Nalin Kumar went to the Goraksha Hall at Kadri and obstructed the police officer from doing his duty. The District Youth Congress condemns the arrogant attitude of the MP and demands his resignation.”
Mithun Rai also said, “An MP should act as an MP and not as a Goon. Our district has witnessed communal disturbances which have badly affected the people. The Police of Dakshina Kannada are trying their best to bring the district to normalcy and are working hard to maintain the law and order situation and create unity and brotherhood among the people of the district. MP Nalin with his arrogant attitude has abused a Police Inspector on duty and obstructed him from doing his work. On TV and newspapers, MP Nalin claims to be the number one MP. But today he has shown his attitude to the people by abusing a Police inspector on duty. Until Nalin resigns, we will hold protests in every taluk. Nalin is trying to create communal violence in the district. He should be punished for obstructing a police officer from doing his duty.
District Congress President Harish Kumar and S P Dinesh also spoke. Suhail Kandak, Praveenchandra Alva, Shoib, Lukman, Prasad Malli and others were also present.
