District youth JD(S) Submits Memorandum to DCP and DC for Action against Jagadish Shenava
Mangaluru: The District Youth JD(S) submitted a memorandum against the inciting speech by district VHP president Jagadish Shenava during a book release programme on January 28, to the DCP Law and Order Hanumantharya at his office here on January 29.
The District Youth JD(S) President Akshith Suvarna and other members met the DCP law and order Hanumantharaya and submitted a memorandum stating that, on January 28, in a book release programme the district president of VHP in his speech said, “Deepak was innocent and he was brutally murdered, what if Basheer was killed in revenge of Deepak’s murder. As a district president, I support it.”
The memorandum also stated that, as the district is getting normal, such statements at this time will lead to communal violence. The District Youth JD(S) condemns the statement made by Jagadish Shenava. We request the concerned authorities to take stern action against Jagadish Shenava”.
We have already approached the DC and submitted a memorandum to take action against Jagadish Shenava.
Speaking to mangalorean.com Akshith Suvarna said, “The district VHP president Jagadish Shenava in a programme had delivered a controversial speech. In his speech, he said that he supports the murder of Basheer in revenge for Deepak’s murder which we condemn. We have already urged the DC to take stern action against him. I would like to inform Jagadish Shenava that, if he wants to deliver such controversial speech, let him do it within the four walls of his house and if he really wants to help the families of those who have lost their loved ones, let him do it.”
Akshith further said, “Many innocent youths have already lost their lives, such speeches will create communal violence where innocent people will suffer. We the youth do not want communal violence in our district, your speech will lead many innocent youths to indulge in violence, do not incite the innocent youth and make them victims of violence”.
District Youth JD(S) Organizing Secretary Faizal Rehaman, Secretary Bharat G Hegde, Muhammed Faizal, Ratish Karkera, Hitesh Rai and Sayyed Ismail were also present.
