Diwali Celebrated with Families of Soldiers of the Indian Army
Mangaluru: Yuva Morcha wing of the BJP Mangalore South under the leadership of President Sandeep Shetty and General Secretary Nandan Mallya today visited the house of Sandeep Nayak, who is serving as Havaldar in the Indian Army and Wing commander Grahith Chris D Souza to mark the Deepavali celebrations.
The Prime Minister had earlier requested to send Diwali greetings to Soldiers and spend time with their families for Deepavali. Many people following the request have been sending Deepavali wishes, sweets and greetings to our jawans.
When the Yuva Morcha members today visited the house of Havaldar Sandeep Nayak, his wife had tears in her eyes and could not control her emotions. She said, “Until now not once did we receive so much respect or recognition, we are happy that there is someone who cares and remembers us, we don’t ask anything more.”
Sandeep Naik’s wife also called her husband who is posted in Jammu and said: “This was the best gift ever, We are grateful to people who have shown us so much, love.”
The Yuva morcha also visited the house of Wing Commander Grahith D Souza, an M.Tech graduate from IIT Karagput who is serving in the Indian Air Force since 2002. His father Gregory D’Souza was so pleasantly surprised that he could not speak for a few minutes. He was overwhelmingly moved and with teary eyes said: “We Jawans need nothing more”! D Souza not being a big fan of BJP and Modi, but after today’s incident, he said that he was very happy with BJP’s gesture and thanked Modi for taking up this initiative.
