DK Congress Celebrates Priyanka Gandhi’s Appointment as AICC General Secretary
Mangaluru: The District Congress Celebrated the appointment of Priyanka Gandhi as the General Secretary of AICC in front of the DCC office here on January 24.
Congress leaders and party workers bursted firecrackers and distributed sweets.
Addressing the party workers AICC General secretary PC Vishnunath said, “It is a great move by the president of AICC Rahul Gandhi to appoint Priyanka Gandhi as the General Secretary of AICC. She is the in- charge of UP. It gives us golden memories of Indira Gandhi. Together we are fighting against the fascist forces. The country is changing in all aspects. Together we are fighting to protect democracy and our constitution. Priyanka Gandhi’s entry will give us more strength to win the forthcoming elections.”
Speaking on the occasion Ivan D’Souza said, “Party workers are looking forward for Priyanka Gandhi to actively take part in politics and encourage the party workers to work for the Congress to win in 2019 elections. Now the AICC has appointed Priyanka Gandhi as the General Secretary. We all welcome her to participate in active politics. Now the BJP is in confusion and their condition is like the fish without water.”
Ivan D’Souza further said, “In 2019, the Congress party should come to power and Priyanka should actively take part to help the party to win. Priyanka has been appointed as the General Secretary and she will actively work in 80 constituencies of UP. Priyanka Gandhi’s arrival has brought horse power to the Congress. People of this country are fed up of BJP and it’s lies. People do not want a liar but they want development of the country. If Priyanka wants to contest from Mangaluru we welcome her. If Priyanka wins from Mangaluru in 2019 Rahul will be the prime minister.”
President DCC Harish Kumar also spoke on the occasion.
