Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee began their journey to join the Hasiru Hore Kanike Procession from the DCC Office, Mallikatta here on May 3. The Hasiru Hore Kanike Procession is being held in view of the Brahmakalashotsava Festival at the famous Sri Kadri Manjunatheshwara Temple. The procession will witness a cavalcade of over 150 vehicles, loaded with offerings for the deity, from the Nehru Maidan to the Kadri temple.

Addressing the mediapersons Ex-MLA JR Lobo said, “The Kadri Manjunatheshwara Temple is one of the most sacred temples in Mangaluru. For the Brahmakalasha, all the Congress party workers are going to participate in the Hore Kanike Procession and give our offerings to the deity. We have organized nine vehicles that will take part in the procession. This type of procession brings people of all religions together. We must respect all the religions and traditions, and all of us must believe that there is only one God and all of us are God’s children.”

Next, addressing the mediapersons, Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha Candidate Mithun Rai said, “I want to wish all the people of Dakshina Kannada district a very happy festival. In view of the Brahmakalashotsava, two Congress party blocks from the Dakshina Kannada Vidhan Sabha constituency are going to take part in the Hasiru Hore Kanike Procession. I am happy that all of the Congress party workers have joined together and are enthusiastically taking part in this procession. In over 10 vehicles, we are going to be offering rice, jaggery, sugar, vegetables, and coconuts to the deity. We are doing this so that Sri Kadri Manjunatheshwara blesses this region and brings peace to the entire district. I urge everyone to visit the temple and seek the blessings of Sri Kadri Manjunatheshwara.”

Later, Congress leaders DCC President Harish Kumar, Ex-MLA JR Lobo, and Lok Sabha Candidate Mithun Rai lit the lamp and broke several coconuts in order to ensure an auspicious start to the occasion. Finally, the DCC cavalcade commenced its short trip to join the main Hore Kanike Procession coming from Nehru Maidan.
