DK only District to implement Government Welfare Programmes in the State – Rai
Mangaluru: A Taluk level Public meeting was held at the Rosario Cultural hall here on August 4.
The programme began with welcoming the gathering by ADC Kumar. The programme was inaugurated by the District minister in-change Ramanath Rai by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais.
Addressing the gathering Ramanath Rai said that after the congress government came to power CM Siddaramaiah has fulfilled most of the promises made during the elections in the manifesto. The government has implemented many schemes such as Anna Bhagya, Kheera Bhagya, Vidyasiri and much more. DK is the only district to implement government welfare programmes in the State. Through Vidyasiri scheme Rs 1.75 crore has been distributed as scholarship to the students. Through Kheera Bhagya 22 metric tonnes of milk powder has been distributed. CM Siddaramaiah’s dream is to make the state hunger free. In this direction the government has taken all the measures by implementing the scheme. The authorities should work with integrity and transparency and help the people to get the benefits from the government.
He further said that the SC/ST reserved funds which have not utilised for their welfare will be carried forward and utilised. The last date to apply for akrama sakrama has been extended till October. Rai also said that in every Panchayat a Bapuji Seva Kendra will be opened and will be able to provide 100 types of services to the people so that they can pay their bills and do most of the work there. While concluding Rai said that such Public meetings will help the people to solve their problems.
The president of the Ullal CMC Hussain Kunhi Monu from the dais dialled the number 08023108108 to inform about the problems in the temple in Ullal area which cost him Rs 6. He said if we have to pay to register our complaints with the government why would the people contact them? he questioned. He also suggested setting up a toll-free number to receive complaints. DC Dr Jagadeesha assured to look into the matter.
