DK Records Highest Single-day Spike with 314 Positive Cases and 11 COVID-19 Deaths
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, Dakshina 314 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus and 11 persons have died of COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada district on August 26.
Out of the 314 positive cases, 129 persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), 19 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) and 88 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts. The health officials are tracing the contacts of 78 others.
Out of the 314 cases tested positive, 215 persons are from Mangaluru, 52 from Bantwal, 8 from Puttur, 10 from Belthangady, 2 from Sullia, and 27 from other districts.
Meanwhile, 296 persons were also discharged from the hospital after complete recovery.
So far 11092 positive cases have been reported in the district and 330 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 2339 active cases in the district.
This is the highest single-day spike since the first positive case was confirmed in the Dakshina Kannada district.
