DK Records Highest Single-day Spike with 448 Positive Cases on Aug 28
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, Dakshina 448 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus and 6 persons have died of COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada district on August 28.
Out of the 448 positive cases, 149 persons are suffering from an influenza-like illness (ILI), 17 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) and 66 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts. The health officials are tracing the contacts of 215 others.
Out of the 448 cases tested positive, 273 persons are from Mangaluru, 103 from Bantwal, 27 from Puttur, 18 from Belthangady, 17 from Sullia, and 10 from other districts.
Meanwhile, 293 persons were also discharged from the hospital after complete recovery.
So far 11837 positive cases have been reported in the district and 343 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 2521 active cases in the district.
This is the highest single-day spike since the first positive case was confirmed in the Dakshina Kannada district.
