DK Records Highest Single-day Spike with 456 Positive Cases on Sept 18
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, Dakshina 456 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus and 11 persons have died of COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada district on September 18.
Out of the 456 positive cases, 236 persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), 14 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) and 131 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts. The health officials are tracing the contacts of 75 others.
Out of the 456 cases tested positive, 242 persons are from Mangaluru, 86 from Bantwal, 27 from Puttur, 40 from Belthangady, 26 from Sullia, and 35 from other districts.
Meanwhile, 340 persons were also discharged from the hospital after complete recovery.
So far 19322 positive cases have been reported in the district and 472 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 4506 active cases in the district.
This is the highest single-day spike since the first positive case was confirmed in the Dakshina Kannada district.
